Get Involved!  We are a humble organization trying to do amazing things.  Our biggest challenge is to raise awareness of the needs of visually impaired people in Israel, and explain about the work that we are doing to make dreams of independence and mobility come true.

 

Form a New "Friends-of" organization in your area:  We are seeking dedicated volunteers to speak at Hebrew Schools, Men's and Women's Clubs at Synagogues, etc.  We will gladly provide you with the materials and information necessary to get started, and will support your efforts with speaking and written materials.  Contact us to find out more.

 

Parlor meetingHost a "Friend-raising" parlor meeting:  Many people invite their friends and other influential people in their community to an informal gathering in their home to learn more about the work that we do.  Our Executive Director will gladly attend the meetings if there is a potential to at least cover the cost of travel.

 

Raise a Puppy:  Our training facility is located in Israel just south of Tel Aviv.  We breed, raise and train the dogs in Israel so they learn Hebrew commands and also so they are accustomed to the unique environment there.  If you live in Israel and would like to volunteer to raise a puppy, please contact us at info@igdcb.org.  Our "Friends-of" organizations in the U.S., Canada and England do fund-raising to support the program in Israel. 

 

Sponsor a Puppy:  The cost to provide a "Partnership" between a visually impaired person and a guide dog is approximately $25,000, and we provide this service at no cost.  We rely on people with "vision" to help us make miracles happen.  Many Hebrew school students sponsor puppies for their Mitzvah Project, and some Hebrew school classes designate the guide dog center to receive funds collected for Tzedakah.  The cost to sponsor a puppy is just $500 which covers the expenses for a puppy in its first year.

Volunteer with a puppyWork at the Center in Israel:  We have had several students volunteer to work for us as part of the Young Judea program.  We gladly accept volunteers and have a number of things you can do if you plan to be in Israel for an extended visit.

 

Sponsor a puppy

Sponsor a future guide dog and help us to provide the love and support that is so crucial during the first year of a puppy’s life. The cost to raise a puppy is $1000, which includes all of their food, toys and immunizations. We see to it that the puppies are raised in a nurturing and enriched environment to prepare them for the important work that they will do. In less than two years, these amazing animals will make a profound difference in the life of someone who is visually impaired.
