CanVelo USA Bike Event

from Manhattan to Tenafly NJ and Back

Eli Yablonek and GlenEli Yablonek fought valiantly as a tank commander during the Yom Kippur War, and was awarded the Ot Mofet, one of Israel's highest citations. During the battle, Eli's tank was hit by a missile and he lost his arm and his vision. This amazing man wanted to get on with his life, so he got a guide dog to lead the way, and he became very involved in sports. As a member of the CanVelo tandem bike club, Eli rides almost every weekend.

Eli is coming to New York to ride with CanVelo USA - a newly formed bike club that raises awareness of the needs of blind Israelis and is connected with the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind.

Sponsor a puppy

Sponsor a future guide dog and help us to provide the love and support that is so crucial during the first year of a puppy’s life. The cost to raise a puppy is $1000, which includes all of their food, toys and immunizations. We see to it that the puppies are raised in a nurturing and enriched environment to prepare them for the important work that they will do. In less than two years, these amazing animals will make a profound difference in the life of someone who is visually impaired.
